Tata Steel in the Netherlands

Thermagy at Tata’s continuous casting line
- Steel slabs of 800°C-900°C, cool down before being put in a cooling yard
- Well suited for Thermagy heat panel implementation due to accessibility and limited impact on operations
- A 1 m2 system converts a total waste heat flow of ~1 MW into:
- ~50kW electricity
- ~950kW hot water ( -> ~400kW steam )
Glass industry in the Netherlands
A Thermagy pilot started at the Dutch branches of St. Gobain, Ardagh, Libbey and O-I that are united in the Dutch Association of the Glass Industry (VNG). A specially designed Thermagy probe [link] that exactly fits the dimensions of a furnace inspection hole in which the TEG module is protected by a number of shields from the enormous heat as well as against contagious gasses and dust.
